The British portal Carwow organized a straight-line race between two fundamentally different “charged” all-wheel drive models – a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the top Raptor R version and a Mercedes-AMG G 63 SUV. The American truck is noticeably more powerful, but also heavier than the German sports all-terrain vehicle. As a result, one of the participants won in all disciplines.
The Ford F-150 Raptor R is the most powerful serial pickup truck on the planet with a gasoline engine. Its 5.2-liter supercharged V8 develops 730 hp and 868 Nm after the 2023 update. The engine is combined with a 10-range automatic. The weight of the model is 2699 kg.
Under the hood of the “hot” Gelendvagen is a four-liter “turbo eight” with 585 hp. and 850 Nm, aggregated with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The SUV weighs one and a half hundred kilograms less than its competitor – 2550 kg.
