The debut date of the new generation Nissan Patrol SUV has been revealed. The new model, codenamed Y63, will be released on September 3, 2024, 15 years after the premiere of the previous Patrol Y62. It will share the body with its premium counterpart, the Infiniti QX80, but will receive an original design, and under the hood, instead of the current V8, there will be a 3.5-liter “biturbo six”. Sales will start in the Middle East, and in the spring of 2025, the frame SUV will reach the United States, where it is known as the Armada.
On the teaser website, the Nissan Patrol Y63 is presented under a thick blanket. The only revealed detail is the signature V-Motion radiator grille with a large-mesh pattern instead of slats.
The V8 gasoline engine, which is equipped with the current Patrol, will give way to a more economical, but at the same time more powerful V6 with two turbines. The QX80’s 3.5-liter unit produces 457 horsepower and 698 Nm of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. It is stated that switching to the “six” will reduce fuel consumption by 12 percent.
The new model will be more powerful than not only the current Patrol, but also its “hot” version Nismo, which produces 428 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque.
