Porsche has updated the 911 sports car and introduced its first ever version with a hybrid power plant, the company’s press service reported.
According to Motor1.com, the price of the updated Porsche 911 in the basic Carrera version starts from $122,095. The Carrera GTS version with a hybrid engine costs from $166,895.
Porsche’s hybrid system features a new 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine and a motor with a single electric turbo instead of a twim turbo system, increasing total power to 532 hp.
In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the Carrera GTS receives new active aerodynamic flaps at the front. There are also new rims, and there are slight changes in the design of the front and rear of the car. Inside, the biggest innovation is the new tachometer, which is now fully digital. Porsche did away with analog gauges for the first time in the 911.
In addition to the Carrera GTS hybrid model, the base Carrera model also received updates. It will add turbines and intercoolers from previous GTS and Turbo models. Power increased by 9 hp.
The updated 911 Carrera is due to arrive in dealers in the fall, while the Carrera GTS will arrive towards the end of the year. This will be followed by an update to other modifications of the sports car: Turbo and Turbo S, as well as GT3 RS.
