Audi introduced the A6 Avant e-tron electric station wagon. While this is a concept. But in the future, the electric car may well become serial. Externally, the five-door repeats last year’s A6 e-tron liftback, and technically both cars are widely unified. The station wagon supports charging with a capacity of 270 kilowatts, and with a full battery it travels up to 700 kilometers. Commodity Audi A6 e-tron promise to show in 2023.
The upcoming Audi A6 e-tron will be the first model on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) modular platform. The electric trolley, developed by Audi in collaboration with Porsche, is designed for a range of Class B, C and D models. The architecture supports an 800-volt electrical system, 270 kilowatt DC charging and provides a range of up to 700 kilometers on a WLTP cycle. PPE vehicles can be rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The electric station wagon is close in size to the fuel A6 Avant, only noticeably wider. Wheel diameter – 22 inches. The drag coefficient Cd is 0.24 versus 0.22 for the A6 e-tron liftback and 0.27 for the regular A6 Avant with the base two-liter engine. Design in Audi is called “monolithic”: they say, when viewed from the side, the body panels look like a single piece.
Matrix headlights of the concept can “draw” clues on the road, just like a Mercedes, and also project pictures on the walls, even down to simple video games. Lanterns are made on organic light-emitting diodes, combined into a strip and function as one display. For them, you can set an infinite number of static and dynamic variants of the light pattern. The role of turn indicators is assigned to LED-projectors integrated at the corners of the body.
The Audi A6 Avant e-tron station wagon is equipped with two electric motors with a total output of 476 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The 100 kilowatt-hour traction battery supports fast charging, which means ten minutes will give an additional 300 kilometers, and filling from 5 to 80 percent will take only 25 minutes. Acceleration to a hundred in the car lasts less than four seconds, but there will be versions that are less dynamic. Suspension – pneumatic with electronically controlled shock absorbers.
Production Audi A6 e-tron is promised in 2023. Prototypes of an electric car are already on the roads, and they practically do not differ from the concept. According to some reports, electric “sixes” will be produced both in Germany and in China.
