The BMW M4 Competition Coupe took on the Dodge Durango supercrossover in a straight-line race. The Hennessey company arranged an unusual duel, bringing together a BMW M4 Competition and a modified Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat in the race. Atelier from Texas does not miss the opportunity to increase the power of almost every new model of American brands. The company could not ignore the full-size SUVs either – the already insane standard Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat received the HPE1000 package, which made the American model twice as powerful as the German rival.
The third-generation Dodge Durango for the first time in its history acquired a version of the SRT Hellcat with a 720-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 with a drive supercharger. Through a comprehensive refinement of the power unit, its parameters were increased to 1000 forces and 1314 Nm.
Naturally, with such potential, a full-size SUV is capable of a lot. What exactly – clearly showed a duel involving a standard thoroughbred sports car. The inline 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine installed in the BMW M4 Competition produces 510 horsepower and 650 Nm.
The coupe also has all-wheel drive, but weighs lighter – 1724 kilograms versus 2592 kilograms for an SUV. Naturally, duelists have different potential, but can the difference in power, which is partly offset by excessive weight, make Hennessey’s Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat a winner in the fight against the BMW M4 Competition?
