Cadillac showed the electric Escalade on video and revealed the debut date. The premiere of the SUV will take place on August 9, 2023 in Detroit, where the assembly of the novelty will be launched next year. The battery-powered Escalade with the IQ prefix will retain a number of characteristic features, but will borrow elements from other “green” Cadillacs – the Lyriq crossover and the Celestiq luxury liftback. In the teaser video, you can see some details of the “reinvented icon”.
The Escalade IQ received sophisticated rims and a rear with a Cadillac Celestiq-inspired diode brake light strip, as well as a cap in place of the grille with a dynamic light pattern and an illuminated emblem. On its sides, vertical optical elements are visible, which migrated from the Escalade fuel to electric.
So far, I have only been allowed to look into the interior of the Cadillac through the glass of the panoramic roof. Inside, you can see the large screen of the multimedia system, which looks more like a Lyriq display than a giant 55-inch Celestiq panel.
It is known that the electric Escalade IQ will be assembled in Detroit, as well as the GMC Hummer EV, with which the novelty will share the Ultium platform (it also underlies the Lyriq and Celestiq). There is no data on the “technique” yet, but it is expected that the base Escalade will be able to overcome at least 640 kilometers on a single charge.
