The Blazin Rodz team has prepared a restomod based on a Chevrolet Chevelle for the 2024 SEMA show. Its power is 2838 hp. Custom parts are made on a CNC machine and a 3D printer. The project was called Doughboy.
The V8 engine with a working volume of 8.8 liters is equipped with two turbines. It is shifted back almost 40 centimeters, closer to the center of the wheelbase. The intake, exhaust and cooling system for the engine were created from scratch.
The suspension is also original, its parts are made of aluminum. The interior has Sparco “buckets” with multi-point belts and a safety cage. The steering wheel was taken from an Audi R8. The design was changed, but the buttons for accessing the main functions were preserved.
An interesting point: the gas tank is combined with the rear diffuser. Judging by the photos, the restomod has a very small ground clearance. If the car is supposed to be usable, then this solution looks dangerous.
