Chery unveiled a prototype of a flying car called the Land and Air Vehicle at the Chery 2024 Global Innovation Conference, CarNewsChina reported.
It is specified that the prototype is still in the development stage, but it has already successfully covered a test distance of about 80 km in the air.
The Land and Air Vehicle is a three-body flying car with a hybrid wing that has neither a steering wheel nor an accelerator pedal. It consists of three parts: an aircraft module, a cockpit, and a chassis.
According to Chery, the flying car can switch between autonomous flight and ground driving modes, designed for short-distance travel in urban areas. This is intended to reduce the problem of traffic jams. In flight mode, it can take off and land vertically.
According to previously published information, the Chery flying car is built on the scalable intelligent architecture of Mars S2MA and is designed to carry up to two people. The flight altitude is less than 1000 m, the maximum speed in the air can reach 120 km/h, and the time in the sky is about 40 minutes.
