The world’s only Ferrari F40 supercar equipped with a V12 engine has gone on sale. The auction house Iconic Auctioneers is holding the auction for the unique car. The model is based on the standard F40. However, the place of the standard twin-turbocharged V8 was taken by a twelve-cylinder unit from a more modern Ferrari 550. The starting price of the supercar is $700,000 (1,190,000 manat).
The exclusive model was built on the basis of the F40, which the company used for crash tests. Specialists from the British company Simpson Motorsport, who purchased an unnecessary car from the Italian manufacturer, took part in the creation of the car.
The engineers replaced the 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V12 from the Ferrari 550. At the same time, the engine replacement allowed increasing the output from 478 to 550 horsepower. The unit was paired with a six-speed sequential Hewland NLT. In addition, the supercar received a lightweight body and a safety cage.
The exclusive car took part in several racing series, where it won prizes. The car has been standing idle in a private collection for the past few years. Before the sale, the supercar underwent full preparation.
