The Hyundai brand has revealed how many cars it has assembled since its founding. The South Korean company, founded in 1967, recently celebrated a landmark event – the release of its 100 millionth car. The anniversary car, which turned out to be an electric Ioniq 5, was handed over to its owner at a plant in Ulsan, which is called “the birthplace of the South Korean automobile industry.”
Hyundai recalled that it took the automaker 46 years to produce the first 50 million cars, and it passed the 100 million mark 11 years later. Now, in addition to plants in South Korea, Hyundai has enterprises in the Czech Republic, India, Turkey and the United States.
