As a brand, Lexus brings the reliability and toughness of the Toyota lineup and adds class-leading luxury features which makes the vehicles they produce tough to beat for the competition. Recently, Kelley Blue Book released its list of the top luxury hybrid vehicles of 2022 and 2023, and the top three on the list are all Lexus vehicles. Here is everything you need to know about the top three luxury hybrid cars of 2022 and 2023.
1. 2023 Lexus ES
The 2023 Lexus ES hybrid starts at $43,690 and offers an experience that combines the aesthetic features of a luxury sports sedan with the cushy and comfortable ride of an old-school luxury cruiser. The Lexus ES line comes in five different trim levels: the ES 300h, which acts as the base model, the ES 300h Luxury, the ES 300h Ultra Luxury, the ES 300h F Sport Design, and the ES 300h F Sport Handling. Every trim level of the ES hybrid comes with a 2.5L four-cylinder hybrid engine producing 215 horsepower. Every trim of the ES hybrid also makes an incredible 43 mpg city/44 mpg highway, which is very impressive for a luxury sedan.
The Lexus ES hybrid models all come with standard MacPherson struts and shock absorbers in the suspension system, but the F Sport Handling trim ups the ante with Adaptive Variable Suspension which adapts for the ride that best suits your driving style. The Lexus ES line is outfitted with an incredible interior that, depending on your trim level, comes equipped with smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, power rear sunshade, wood trim, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control with automatic smog sensor and automatic recirculation mode, heated wood, and leather-trimmed steering wheel, and wireless smartphone charging.
The 2023 Lexus ES hybrid line starts at $43,690 MSRP and tops out at $52,480 for the Ultra Luxury trim.
2. 2022 Lexus LC
The 2022 Lexus LC is a luxury coupe that merges the luxury features of the Lexus brand, with the handling and drivability you would expect out of a world-class sports coupe. All of this fun is powered by a hybrid drivetrain that puts out solid performance and good fuel economy. The Lexus LC hybrid comes equipped with a 3.5L V6 hybrid engine that produces a very impressive 354 horsepower to the rear wheels, and with this power, the LC was able to reach 155 miles per hour on the track.
The Lexus LC hybrid has great fuel economy compared to other V6 and V8 gas-guzzling sports cars with an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. This Lexus also has an all-electric mode that is able to power the car through slow stop-and-go traffic without using the gasoline engine at all. The Lexus LC hybrid is a hybrid luxury sports coupe at $100,300 MSRP.
3. 2022 Lexus LS
The Lexus LS lineup is the flagship sedan for the Lexus brand. Ever since the early 1990s with the LS 400, the LS lineup has stood for the very best that the Lexus brand has to offer in a sedan, and the current LS model, the LS 500 is no different. The LS 500 comes in a hybrid model that is incredible both on the inside as a luxury car and on the track as a performance car. Just like the LC, the LS comes with a 3.5L hybrid V6 engine which makes 354 horsepower and is good for a 136 mph top speed.
What makes the LS different, however, is the fact that this hybrid sedan comes in all-wheel drive, and while that might sap some fuel economy at 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway, this is a luxury hybrid performance sedan that is capable of seating five comfortably and propelling from 0 to 60 mph in around five seconds. The Lexus LS hybrid starts at $113,150 MSRP.
Having taken top honors in their class according to Kelley Blue Book, these Lexus hybrid vehicles give great fuel economy, performance, and comfort.
