Toyota presented in Europe the updated Yaris Cross, an urban crossover that has become more powerful and technologically advanced. It is equipped with a new hybrid powertrain combining a 1.5-liter petrol engine, an MG1 electric motor-generator and a new gearbox. The power of this installation has been increased from 116 hp. up to 132 hp, and torque reaches 185 Nm. The crossover can accelerate to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds, and accelerate from 80 to 120 km/h in 8.9 seconds.
The Hybrid 130 system will be available in higher versions, including the Premiere Edition and GR Sport. In addition, a hybrid unit with 116 hp will be offered. The updated Yaris Cross promises reduced noise and vibration levels thanks to a dynamic damper, a resonator on the intake hose and other improvements.
The Yaris Cross interior received a driver-configurable digital instrument panel and a modern multimedia system. The size of the instrument display varies from 7 to 12.3 inches, and the multimedia system screen can be 9 or 10.5 inches. The car is also equipped with an improved voice recognition system with a voice assistant.
The Toyota Yaris Cross promises to be one of the safest compact cars, with new camera and radar systems, adaptive cruise control and rear seat occupant reminder features. It is also offered in a new Urban Khaki paint job with 18-inch wheels and updated fabric seat upholstery. Prices and configurations will be announced later.
