Volkswagen has introduced an updated crossover T-Cross. The small car based on the sixth generation Polo debuted in 2019 and has since sold about 1.2 million units around the world. Now T-Cross is ripe for the first restyling. It turned out to be modest: the crossover got tweaked bumpers, more expensive optics already in the “base” and a free-standing multimedia system screen instead of the built-in one.
The photos show the R-Line version in the new Grape Yellow, which has entered the range along with two metallics – Clear Blue and Kings Red. LED headlights are now standard, while the Style and R-Line trims are equipped with matrix ones (in the basic Life version, you will have to pay extra for them). The optics were connected by a light strip interrupted by the Volkswagen locotype.
The same solution is applied at the rear, where a thin strip is also stretched between the lamps with a new X-shaped pattern. Regardless of the configuration, the crossover has a silver underbody protection. Dimension of rims – from 16 to 17 inches.
T-Cross has grown in length by 27 millimeters (to 4135 millimeters) and can now carry heavier bikes thanks to an improved mounting. The trunk still fits from 455 to 1281 liters, depending on the position of the rear row backrests.
The digital instrument panel is put on all versions by default, but its diagonal varies from eight to 10 inches. The screen of the multimedia system, which received new hardware and software, can be eight or 9.2 inches. The air conditioning system is controlled from a backlit panel.
There are two engines to choose from for the T-Cross – a liter “turbo engine” with a capacity of 95 or 115 horsepower, a 1.5 TSI of the EA211 evo family, producing 150 forces. Depending on the motor, the crossover is equipped with a “mechanics” or a “robot” with two clutches.
