Kia showed the updated EV6 electric car. It received a new appearance, a larger battery and an advanced Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) media system with AR navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a fingerprint scanner. On one charge in combined mode, the restyled EV6 travels almost 500 kilometers.
The restyled Kia EV6 debuted in South Korea, made in the Modern Contrast design concept. A distinctive feature of the electric car is the elaborate front optics Starmap Signature Lighting, in the “zigzags” of which the main light blocks are inscribed. The regular version and the GT-line differ in bumper design, 20-inch wheel design and body color options. The salons are the same – and there are plenty of innovations here too.
The new steering wheel catches your eye, as well as the curved cluster of the ccNC media system with uniform graphics of the “tidy” and the main display. The seamless interface is based on horizontal lines (it’s called Seon, “line” in Korean) and was awarded the Red Dot Design Award in 2023. Multimedia supports advanced OTA updates, Hi-Pass remote toll payment and Kia Digital Key 2. In addition, there is voice control and Touch ID.
Also included in the EV6 equipment is a digital interior mirror and a rear video recorder, and a grip sensor is built into the steering wheel, which is necessary for the correct operation of the assistance electronics. There are still two modifications: with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In the first case, the output of the power plant is 229 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, in the second – 325 horsepower and 605 Nm. The new 84-kilowatt-hour battery provides a range of up to 494 kilometers on a single charge-19 more than the previous 77.4-kilowatt-hour battery.
