AvtoVAZ has started production of Lada cars in Azerbaijan. The company was the first to begin assembling the most affordable model of the brand – Lada Granta. However, this year the range of produced models may be expanded. Thus, the Lada Niva SUVs (Legend and Travel) and the Vesta family should join the Granta.

AvtoVAZ said that at one of the local production sites there is a receiving area for vehicle kits, an assembly shop and a parking lot for storing finished cars. The staff was trained by specialists from Tolyatti.

All assembled Lada cars undergo road tests. In total, up to 1.5 thousand cars are planned to be produced at the site in Azerbaijan this year. At the same time, the annual production volume in the next few years may increase to 4-5 thousand cars.
