The Chinese concern BYD has published photos of a new D-class electric sedan called e7. No details have been provided yet, but the Cnevpost publication clarifies that some technical details have become known during the certification process of the future new product. Based on the characteristics, it can be expected that the new product will be affordable.
As far as can be judged from the photos, the BYD e7 will receive a dynamic, smooth silhouette with extended rear fenders and a compact overhang. In addition, new lighting equipment has been developed for the e7 with characteristically beveled running lights, vaguely reminiscent of the optics of the Porsche Taycan.
According to information from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Trade, the dimensions of the electric car will be 4780x1900x1515 millimeters with a wheelbase of 2820 millimeters. In terms of the distance between the axles, the BYD e7 is almost identical to the Toyota Camry, but is 135 millimeters shorter. The e7 is currently certified with only one engine with a power of 136 hp, with which it can accelerate to 150 km/h.
