Cadillac presented the youth crossover Optiq “powered by batteries”. The new model debuted at the Beijing Auto Show, and the main market for it will be, as you might guess, China. The new product is aimed primarily at a young audience: it has a stylish design with a minimum of chrome in the decor and a “floating” black roof. Cadillac says that the Optiq accelerates to “hundreds” in six seconds and travels 600 kilometers without recharging.
The Optiq will be offered in the Chinese market with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The output in the first case will be 245 horsepower, acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour will take seven seconds, and the maximum speed will be limited to 180 kilometers per hour. The single-wheel drive crossover is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 68.4 kilowatt-hours, on a single charge of which it travels 536 kilometers on the CLTC cycle.
The interior of the new electric cross is reminiscent of the co-platform Lyriq, which, like the Optiq, is built on the Ultium architecture. In front of the driver is a widescreen 33-inch digital cluster, with physical climate control buttons below. A rotary transmission selector and two cup holders are located on the central tunnel.
The list of equipment includes dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, wireless charging for a smartphone and atmospheric interior lighting with 126 colors to choose from.
