The organizers of the European Car of the Year competition have published the list of finalists. It includes seven models that a professional jury selected from 42 candidates. The 2025 winner will be announced on January 10 at the Brussels International Motor Show.
This year, the nominees for the prestigious award are mainly compact cars: Alfa Romeo Junior, Citroen C3, Cupra Terramar, Dacia Duster, Hyundai Inster, Kia EV3, as well as the closely related Renault 5 and Alpine A290, which are considered one model.

According to the competition rules, a new model that will enter the markets of at least five European countries by the end of the year can be recognized as the Car of the Year. The candidates are evaluated by 60 auto journalists representing 23 countries.
