Chery has added a mid-size sedan A8L with a plug-in hybrid powertrain to its line of “green” Fulwin models. It is already available for order in China in five versions priced from 109,900 to 149,900 yuan (from 15.1 to 20.6 thousand dollars). During the presentation, the manufacturer announced that the new model set a new world record for range, having covered 2,369.915 kilometers without recharging or refueling.
The Fulwin A8L is a hybrid derivative of the purely gasoline Arrizo 8. And it is not the first: earlier this year, the Fulwin A8 and Fulwin A8 Voyage Edition (previously known as the A8 Pro) entered the Chinese market. The L-version differs from them in its original radiator grille, bumpers and lighting equipment. The dimensions of the new model are 4790x1843x1487 mm. The wheelbase is the same 2790 mm as other members of the family.
In the cabin, on the front panel, instead of a single dashboard, separate instrument and multimedia displays are installed – 10.25 and 15.6 inches, respectively. The transmission selector has been moved from the center console to the steering column. Otherwise, the design is approximately the same as in other Fulwin A8s. Depending on the equipment level, electric adjustments, seat heating and ventilation, 50-kilowatt wireless charging for smartphones, Sony acoustics with eight speakers, up to 10 airbags and a set of driving assistants providing autonomy level L2+ are provided.
