Rumors about the appearance of a smaller Defender SUV in the Land Rover line have been circulating for a long time. Now they have been confirmed: the AutoExpress portal has published spy shots of its prototype. It is claimed that the car will be purely electric.
There is no clear confirmation that this is a Defender. However, the shape and proportions of the body, as well as the small taillights shining through the camouflage, indicate the genetics of this particular model. From the technical aspects, it is only known that the car will be based on the modular EMA platform.
It is assumed that, by analogy with the Discovery and Range Rover, the new product will be called Defender Sport. The presentation of the car is expected in 2026. In total, in the next two years, Land Rover intends to bring six electric models to the market, despite the global decline in demand for them. And by the end of the decade, their number, according to the plan, should reach 10.
