Land Rover has unveiled an improved version of the Defender SUV. The update is focused primarily on upgrading media technologies and a set of driver assistants, although minor changes to the exterior of the Defender have also occurred. Orders for the upgraded SUV in all versions are now open, prices in the UK start at £57,135 (about 130 thousand manat).
The update brought the Range Rover Defender rethought lighting technology: the headlights received a new central section, the lights are tinted by default and installed flush with the body panels. The standard equipment includes a black radiator grille, and the inserts on the hood and sides received a new texture. 22-inch wheels of an original design have been added.
The main change in the interior architecture is the enlarged central display of the media system, the diagonal of which is now 13.1 inches instead of the previous 11.4 inches. In addition, a driver monitoring camera has appeared in the cabin: with its help, the on-board electronics monitors whether the person has been distracted from the road. However, this camera can be disabled through the media system menu.
For the first time, the list of available options for the Defender includes an adaptive “off-road cruise”: the system can automatically adjust the speed when driving off-road to maintain an acceptable level of comfort. The most powerful 4.4-liter V8 is equipped with the Octa modification, presented last summer.
