Audi has unveiled the most powerful Q8 in the model’s history. The debut of the updated Audi RS Q8 took place: they showed both the “charged” version of the crossover and its “evil” version with the Performance prefix, which previously drove the Nurburgring in a record 7 minutes and 36.698 seconds. The output of the four-liter V8 engine is impressive – 600 horsepower for the RS Q8 and 640 horsepower for the RS Q8 Performance, and acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour takes 3.8 and 3.6 seconds for crossovers, respectively.
Audi updated the Q8 and the SQ8 cross-coupe last fall – with restyling, the crossovers acquired a new “face,” personalization options expanded, and the list of equipment became more impressive. In particular, for the first time, OLED lights with a built-in proximity sensor were offered for the Q8, which begin to glow brighter when another car approaches closer than two meters. In April of this year, the Q8 family was replenished with a modification with a hybrid installation based on V6 3.0 and the ability to recharge, and now “charged” RS and RS Performance variants have appeared.
Both new items can be distinguished from other versions of the Q8 by a radiator grille with a honeycomb pattern and a pair of oval exhaust pipes. Already in the “base”, RS crossovers have a quattro all-wheel drive system, adaptive air suspension, an active body stabilization system, powerful brake mechanisms (Performance has 440 mm brake discs) and a mechanical center differential.
The maximum speed of the RS Q8 is 250 kilometers per hour, the Performance version, in turn, can accelerate to 280. With the optional Plus package, the limiter can be “moved” to 305 kilometers per hour. In addition, you are offered to pay extra for 23-inch wheels instead of the standard 22-inch ones and red brake calipers instead of black ones (the RS Q8 Performance already has red calipers as standard).
