Mercedes-Benz showed the electric Gelendvagen almost ready for the premiere. The project to create a production version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV with an electric powertrain is entering the home stretch. The Mercedes-Benz EQG model, which will join the proprietary EQ family of hybrids and electric vehicles, will be officially presented in 2024, but for now the German automaker has shown the electric Gelendvagen in its pre-production version. From a series of pictures you can already get a first impression of the new product, which in appearance will be almost no different from the regular G-Class.
The prototype, hidden under black, turquoise and blue camouflage with a pattern a la an electronic board, differs in appearance from the usual Gelika only in the blank radiator grille, new front bumper and wheel rims, air ducts in the rear wheel arch extensions, as well as a square box on the trunk doors instead of the usual spare wheel case.
“A true off-road icon that blends perfectly with its surroundings. The electric G-Class combines the best of all worlds – refinement and advanced electric technology – while remaining a true G,” says Mercedes-Benz.
