Hyundai has announced the premiere of the electric version of Casper. The subcompact A-segment crossover with a “green” power plant will receive the name Inster, derived from the words intimate – “family”, “close”, and innovative – “innovative”. As Hyundai notes, the new product will represent the next step in the evolution of the small Casper, sold in South Korea from 2021. The Inster will debut before the end of June at the Busan International Mobility Expo.
The Inster will set new standards for technology and safety in its class, Hyundai promises. The teaser images show only the details and silhouette of the new product: it has pixel optics in the spirit of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and round LED elements referencing the Casper headlights. Also visible are the charging port at the front and the roof rails.
Insiders predict a crossover price of less than 20 thousand dollars. At home, where the new product will be presented in June, it will be called Casper Electric.
A week ago it became known that Hyundai was preparing a “charged” version of the Ioniq 6 electric liftback. It is expected that the Ioniq 6 N will be technically unified with the Ioniq 5 N, which is equipped with two electric motors with a total power of 650 horsepower. The premiere is expected in the fall.
