Infiniti has published an image of the first electric car. A model called Vision Qe, which, judging by the picture, will be a four-door coupe, will be shown on October 24, but for now in concept status. The first all-electric Infiniti will provide a glimpse of the brand’s future vehicles and will mark the beginning of a line-up of “several exciting new models” that fit into Nissan’s green strategy Ambition 2030. They will be announced during the debut of Vision Qe.
The image shows a darkened silhouette of the Vision Qe with a covered roof that smoothly merges into the stern. The elegant concept, as Infiniti itself characterizes it, received a new illuminated inscription-logo with a changed font. This is part of a global rebranding, which will be the fourth in the history of the brand.
Vision Qe will mark Infiniti’s entry into green mobility, in line with parent Nissan’s plan to have at least 19 new electric vehicles and 27 electrified vehicles by 2030. Details have not yet been revealed, but Infiniti electric cars will likely be built on one of the five platforms used by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
