Nissan presented the fourth generation Murano crossover. The main change is that instead of a V6 engine with a CVT, a turbo four with an automatic transmission appeared. The style of the body and interior became close to the Ariya electric crossover.
The naturally aspirated six was clearly removed due to its inconsistency with modern requirements, and the CVT caused a number of complaints. The new 2.0 turbo engine for Murano is a variable compression ratio engine with a power of 241 hp. It is paired with a classic 9-speed automatic.
The exterior and interior design of Murano is made in the style of the Ariya electric crossover. The length and height have hardly changed compared to its 10-year-old predecessor. The body has become 67 millimeters wider, the ground clearance has increased by 51 millimeters at once. This means improved cross-country ability and more space for three passengers in the second row. As before, the Murano will remain a five-seater.
The front panel has a cluster of two 12.3-inch displays. Almost all the physical keys have been replaced with touch-sensitive ones. The front seats have a massager in addition to the heating and ventilation. The Android Auto and Apple CarPlay protocols work wirelessly.
The options include a projection display, a Bose audio system with 10 speakers, and 21-inch wheels. An extra charge will also be asked for an all-wheel drive transmission. In the North American market, the Nissan Murano is equipped with front-wheel drive only in the “base”. Among the new options, we will mention 64-color interior lighting, interior trim in semi-aniline leather.
