Toyota has announced a new crossover called Urban Cruiser. This is a small electric car intended for the European market – a kind of alternative to the Yaris Cross, but more spacious. Urban Cruiser will receive two front-wheel drive variants and one version with two motors, the start date of sales has not yet been announced.
The dimensions of the new product are 4285x1800x1640 millimeters with a 2.7-meter wheelbase, 18- and 19-inch wheels are available. The appearance of the Urban Cruiser, according to the official statement, is dictated by the Urban SUV concept, but in the shape of the body you can see the relationship of the electric car with another recent new product – Suzuki e-Vitara.
In the interior of the Urban Cruiser, there are no fundamental differences from the interior of the platform Suzuki, except for the nuances of the finish. The electric car will be equipped with a media system with 10.1 and 10.25-inch displays with satellite navigation and all-round cameras, JBL speakers, a sunroof, ambient lighting with 12 shades and an adjustable rear seat.
By 2026, Toyota expects to expand its European line of electric cars to 15 models, and by 2035, the brand’s model range in the region should be completely environmentally friendly.
