The first plant for the production of flying cars is being built in China. XPeng has begun construction of a center for research, development and production of flying cars in Guangzhou, China. The production capacity of the future enterprise will be 10 thousand cars per year. Pre-orders for a serial flying car will be available at the end of this year, and mass production will begin in 2026. The first flying vehicles will be shipped to customers at that time.
XPeng has already collected a number of orders – three thousand people have applied for the yet-to-be-released Land Aircraft Carrier (LAC). It is a six-seater three-axle minivan with a hybrid power plant, in which the internal combustion engine acts as a generator.
In the trunk, it has a flying module designed for two people – it is equipped with six rotors and several impellers, thanks to which the failure of even several motors will not lead to a fall, and it can take off and land vertically.
