The new Zeekr crossover was shown without camouflage. The premium electric car manufacturer, owned by Geely, recently published photos of the camouflaged 7X – the second crossover in the line and a future rival to the Tesla Model Y. Now photos have appeared without camouflage. True, they can only be seen on the exterior of the new product, which, as expected, is almost entirely copied from the 007 sedan.
The 7X’s body shape, according to Zeekr, is based on the principle of the golden ratio. The crossover features a sedan-like Stargate interactive light bar at the front, hidden door handles, and slim taillights with proprietary LED technology. The lidar used by the electronic assistants is installed on the roof.
The crossover is based on the PMA2+ platform (a variation of SEA) with an 800-volt architecture. It’s wider, taller, but shorter than the 007: the 7X’s length, width and height are 4825, 1930 and 1656 millimeters respectively, on a 2925mm wheelbase.
The new product will be offered, as expected, with the same 007 power plant with a capacity of up to 646 horsepower and two battery options. The first is the Golden Brick developed by Zeekr, which can be charged for 500 kilometers in 15 minutes. Interestingly, this option is promised for the basic crossover, while more expensive ones will receive a triple NMC battery from the Chinese CATL.
Zeekr 7X will be released on the Chinese market before the end of 2024. The cost, according to media reports, will range from 240 to 350 thousand yuan (57-82 thousand manat).
