Korean automaker Kia has unveiled its first pickup truck, the Tasman. According to Motor1.com, the vehicle will be sold in South Korea, Australia, the Middle East, and Africa.
The Kia Tasman will be available in several body styles: with two- and single-row cabins, as well as a “cut-down” cabin on a chassis that can be customized for any purpose. The Tasman stands out for its unusual front end with vertical headlights shifted to the sides.
The interior of the new pickup truck features three screens: two 12.3-inch ones, one of which is for the instrument panel and the other for the multimedia system; between them is a 5-inch monitor, on which you can adjust the climate control settings. At the same time, the Kia Tasman also has traditional physical buttons under the screens, in the cup holder area, and on the steering wheel.
The Tasman has a frame structure, a rear differential lock, and a switch for low speed mode. Depending on the market, the new truck will be available with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, and with two- or four-wheel drive.
The Tasman isn’t the only pickup Kia is working on. According to Motor1.com, an electric pickup is expected to arrive by 2027.
