Mercedes-Benz EQS updated amid falling sales. Things are not going well for the Mercedes-Benz electric liftback: in Europe, sales of the model at the end of 2023 fell by 46 percent, and in the United States by 11 percent. Moreover, it turned out that the EQS loses half of its value in the first year of ownership. Mercedes-Benz apparently hopes that a modest restyling will help restore interest in the electric car, which, as the company promises, will not rise in price.
The main changes to the exterior design are concentrated at the front. Silver lines imitating lamellas appeared on the plug in place of the radiator grille, and the Mercedes-Benz emblem moved to the hood, like classic models of the brand. Visitors to the Beijing Motor Show, which opens at the end of April, will be able to see the updated EQS live.
An optional Rear Comfort Package Plus will be available for the EQS, which includes retractable footrests for passengers in the second row, expanded seat adjustments and additional heating for the neck and shoulder area. In addition, there will be a new Manufaktur Selection: this EQS will have an exclusive 21-inch wheel design, new exterior colors and interior trim options.
The restyled Mercedes-Benz EQS can be ordered from April 25. “Despite all the improvements, the starting price of the model will remain at the same level,” says the brand’s official press release. In Germany, EQS costs from 109.5 thousand euros.
