The number of cars in the country has exceeded 1,950,000. Of these, 45.5%, or 885,683 vehicles, were manufactured more than 20 years ago.
According to Avtosfer.az, this was stated by Mubariz Agayev, an employee of the Public Relations Department of the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MSTPD MIA), during an event organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations with the participation of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency and the MSTPD MIA, titled “Fire Safety in Transport and Passenger Transportation.”

He noted that the government is taking measures to renew the country’s vehicle fleet. Mubariz Agayev also emphasized that most fire incidents occur in old vehicles that are technically worn out and unsuitable for operation.
