Jeep compared its Wagoneer S to the Tesla Model Y and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. The Jeep Wagoneer S electric crossover is a few days away from its official premiere, so the American automaker is actively stirring up interest in its new product. This time, the brand released an advertising video in which it compared the new model not only with its flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk SUV, but also with its competitors. The company chose the electric, but more compact Tesla Model Y crossover as its opponent.
Naturally, the new Jeep clashed with Tesla on the race track – the Wagoneer S was the best in acceleration from zero to 60 mph, and in addition, the Model Y Performance has a shorter range than the new opponent. It is stated that Jeep will have a power plant with 610 horsepower and 838 Newton meters, and a battery that will provide an autonomy of 483 kilometers.
Well, the most obvious comparison was the race with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which, although discontinued, retains the status of the most powerful and dynamic car of the brand. But the electric car turned out to be better at accelerating from a standstill than an SUV equipped with the iconic 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine with a compressor, which develops 717 horsepower and 874 Nm.
