According to the consulting agency GlobalData, the global auto market volume exceeded 7.3 million cars in April 2025. For comparison: in the same month last year, six percent fewer cars were sold. Over the four months of 2025, more than 29.4 million cars were purchased worldwide – 5.9 percent more in a year-on-year comparison.
Over 30 days in April, global car sales amounted to 7,324,712 units, and for January-April – 29,243,912 units. According to the published report, China holds first place in sales volume in April with an indicator of 2,055,153 units, which is 12 percent more than last year. During the same month, 1,473,995 cars were sold in the USA – 11.3 percent more than in April 2024.
But the car markets of Western European countries went into the minus by 2.2 percent in April – 1,085,892 cars were sold there. Slightly less – by 1.3 percent – car sales in Eastern Europe fell (367,605 units).
Indicators of other countries are also taken into account. Thus, in South America, 248,039 cars were bought in 30 days, which is 3.6 percent more than last year. The largest car markets included Japan with a result of 339,790 cars (+10.5 percent), South Korea (148,332 units; +6.9 percent) and Canada (178,787 units; +7.8 percent).
