Land Rover has unveiled the most powerful and dynamic Defender. It was named Octa after the hardest mineral on earth – diamond – cut into an octahedron. Defender Octa was distinguished by increased road potential, a more comfortable interior, but its main feature is a “mild hybrid” power plant based on a V8 from BMW, which allows it to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in exactly four seconds.
The Land Rover Defender Octa is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with a 48-volt supercharger. It develops 635 horsepower and 750 Nm, and torque can be briefly increased to 800 Nm when Dynamic Launch Mode is activated. Maximum torque is available from 1800 to almost 6000 rpm. The SUV‘s speed is limited to 250 kilometers per hour.
For the most powerful Defender, they created their own emblem, which is repeated on the body – a rhombus (or an octahedron transferred to a plane) enclosed in a circle. All Octas will be offered in two-tone paint with a roof and fifth door in a glossy black shade. They will offer to cover the body with a protective matte film for an additional fee.
The interior can be trimmed with Ultrafabric material, which is a third lighter than leather, or you can leave standard semi-aniline leather with Kvadrat textile inserts. Another feature is the new Body and Soul Seat front seats with improved support and audio technology, which, according to the manufacturer, will allow you not only to hear, but also to feel the music.
