Hyundai has unveiled the production version of the Ioniq 9 crossover, which will be the largest electric car in the line. At the start of sales in South Korea, the new product will receive three powertrain options, but only one battery. The longest-range version will travel 620 kilometers without recharging, the most powerful will spend 5.2 seconds accelerating to 100 km/h. Sales will start in the first half of 2025.
The dimensions of the Ioniq 9 are 5060x1980x1790 millimeters with a wheelbase of 3130 millimeters. Thus, the new product turned out to be larger than the fuel Hyundai Palisade. The appearance of the electric car is almost completely borrowed from the Hyundai Seven concept. The exterior of the Ioniq 9 has been simplified in a number of details, but the crossover has retained a recognizable silhouette with an almost vertical line of the stern and accentuated wheel arches, as well as characteristic lighting equipment. It, like the Ioniq 5, is made using the pixel principle. The trunk volume is from 620 to 1323 liters (with the third row seats folded).
The interior of the Ioniq 9 is three-row by default, although the second row can be equipped with either a solid sofa or separate seats of increased comfort. They can be turned to face against the direction of travel. A movable console with spacious boxes will be installed between the seats, which can be moved within a range of 190 millimeters. Improved noise and vibration insulation are promised, as well as finishing exclusively from environmentally friendly materials, including eco-leather, wool and materials from recycled plastic.
The media system already in the basic configuration includes two 12-inch displays, eight speakers and a voice assistant with elements of artificial intelligence. In addition, the crossover will be equipped with multiple USB ports connected directly to the traction battery, and a multi-zone climate control system.
After appearing on the domestic market, the Ioniq 9 will go on sale in other regions, including Europe and the USA.
