One of the biggest changes with the new generation of QP is that it will be adding a Folgore electric model on the lineup. Furthermore, the current V8 engine is mostly going to disappear with the 2023 model. That said, with these and many other upcoming changes, the Maserati Quattroporte will be raising stakes in the full-size sedan market.
Maserati has already started trimming its lineup. That is why, the Maserati Ghibli is getting discontinued after 2024. Hence, after the Ghibli is off the market, the Quattroporte will be the only sedan from Maserati.
The Quattroporte is a flagship sedan of Maserati and it competes with other fullsize vehicles such as the BMW 7 Series, the Audi A8 L, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and the Porsche Panamera Executive.
In the next few years, Maserati is planning to phase out combustion engines and transition to electric power. By 2025, every Maserati model will have a full-electric version available, and the company aims to have its entire vehicle lineup electrified by 2030.
That said, Maserati is launching the next generation Quattroporte that is set to arrive in the USA in 2025. The 7th generation Quattroporte will have a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine with two different tunings. The same engine is also found in the GranTurismo. Moreover, the twin-turbo V6’s power output will range from 480 horsepower to 580 horsepower.
Furthermore, the Maserati Quattroporte’s full electric version will have the Folgore which will be the top-most model on the Quattroporte range. The Quattroporte Folgore Sedan will be powered by three electric motors unit. The total output will be over 800 horsepower.
On the other hand, the exterior of the Quattroporte (QP) is expected to change. However, its interior will be borrowed from the already existing GT trim. Furthermore, the 2025 Quattroporte will also be keeping the switchgear from Dodge.
Meanwhile, there is no information available about the pricing of the 2025 Maserati Quattroporte but the new Maserati QP will not be less than $1,50,000.
So there is a lot going to change with the upcoming Maserati lineup. To sum up, the Quattroporte EV will make its debut, the Ghilbi will say bye, and the GranTurismo is going to stay with the Grecale and probably Levante as well. Lastly, the MC20 will also live on for at least another year.
