The British division of Lexus announced the setting of two Guinness World Records at once. Two tennis players were able to pass the ball to each other 101 times while on the roofs of moving cars. During the game, the speed of these “mobile courts” reached 47 km/h.
Lexus NX crossovers were used to set the records. The roofs of the cars were equipped with aluminum platforms, installed on roof rails, and the tennis players were secured with cables. Famous athletes were responsible for the rackets and the ball – Davis Cup winner Jamie Murray and junior Wimbledon winner Laura Robson.
The cars were driven by professional drivers, and the experiment itself took place on the runway of Duxford Airfield. As a result, the organizers and participants were awarded records in the disciplines “Longest tennis rally on moving cars” and “Highest speed during a tennis rally on moving cars.”
