Toyota presented the new BEV bZ7 sedan at the Shanghai Motor Show, which will join the Toyota bZ4X, bZ3, bZ3X and bZ5 electric cars lineup in China. The huge sedan will essentially become a battery-powered and more modern alternative to the popular four-door Camry. The production model is promised to be launched on the market within a year.
The new product was developed jointly by the Toyota Electric Mobility Intelligent Research and Development Center in China and the Japanese brand’s partner Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC).
There are no technical details about the sedan yet. It is only known that it is more than five meters long. The bZ7 will be equipped with the latest systems corresponding to the status of a flagship model. Among them, judging by the lidar on the roof, is a level 2+ autopilot.
The interior of the new model will feature a large multimedia touchscreen, a digital instrument panel, ambient lighting, a projection screen, and a dual slot for wireless charging of smartphones. The trim will use perforated leather and wood inserts.
