Indian visual designer Maitreya Dhanak, who works for Mercedes-Benz, has created a concept for a modern Chevrolet Corvette in a retro style. In the independent project Corvette Stingray Homage, the car is conceived as a front-engine grand tourer with a V8 and rear-wheel drive.
Dhanak is a big fan of classic Corvettes, and in particular, the generations with a front-engine layout (the current Corvette C8 is mid-engine). He especially likes the Corvette Stingray generations C2 and C3, which appeared in the 1960’s.
From classic cars, the author took the general shape of the body and characteristic features such as a two-piece rear window, the style of lighting equipment and wheels. One of the unusual details of the exterior is the exhaust pipes coming out of the front fenders.
There is no talk of creating a real car based on Dhanak’s renderings, but his work attracts a lot of attention on the Internet.
