Following the first batch, Jeep has published new images of the next-generation Cherokee crossover. In addition, a video teaser has been released demonstrating the evolution of the model’s design – from the angular bodies of the first generations through the streamlined features of the previous Cherokee to a new look. Production of the new product should start closer to the end of this year.
It is already known that the exterior design of the Cherokee will become more traditional with the change of generations – the crossover will again receive an angular appearance, although the body contours will still be partially softened. For the first time, a photo has been published giving an idea of the design of the crossover’s stern: both the rear lighting and, for example, the outlines of the pillars and the trunk door are clearly visible.
According to preliminary data, the Cherokee is based on the STLA Large platform of the Stellantis concern and will debut with a hybrid powertrain. The company has already promised that it will be both powerful and economical, and the new product itself will receive a competitive price. In the Jeep lineup, the crossover will take a position between the Compass and Grand Cherokee. At the same time, since the platform is adapted for all types of power units, over time, both Cherokee with classic internal combustion engines and fully electric ones may appear on the market.
