Lamborghini‘s chief designer, Mitya Borkert, has released images of a previously unseen concept car called the Manifesto, which he says hints at the direction of the company’s signature style. The debut of the Manifesto coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Centro Stile studio, a celebration held at the Lamborghini factory museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The Lamborghini Manifesto is a roadster with unusual glass and a mid-engine layout. Its lighting system is practically production-standard, but it differs from current production Lamborghinis in its more laconic and restrained styling, with noticeably fewer facets. However, the roadster’s aggressive appearance is enhanced by the deliberately flared rear wheel arches and a massive diffuser.
No technical specifications have been released: Borkert called the concept a “visionary sculpture.”

At the factory museum, a model of the Manifesto was displayed alongside the last road-going supercar, the Fenomeno, and the iconic Lamborghini Countach. This display could be seen as a hint of continuity and evolution in style.
