Bugatti has released a new ultra-expensive accessory – the Calandre table clock, created in collaboration with the watch house Jacob & Co. and the jewelry company Lalique. Only 99 of these chronometers will be released at a price of $240,000. This is approximately the equivalent of the cost of two Porsche 911 Carrera or one Lamborghini Urus.
The exterior design of the new clock is made with references to elements of the Bugatti corporate style. The front panel is stylized as the Type 41 Royale radiator grille (one of the translations of the word Calandre is “radiator grille”), and the outer cladding uses images of elephants, which are considered one of the symbols of Bugatti. With a height of 196 millimeters, Calandre is 264 millimeters wide.
The watch case is made by Lalique specialists from high-quality glass. The red crystal decorating the top of the chronometer has 288 facets. The watch mechanism is made of 495 parts and is equipped with manual winding.
