At the end of October twenty-third, the premiere of the updated KIA K5 sedan took place in Korea. As part of the restyling, the model received a slightly modified appearance.
From the outside, it can be recognized by different head optics with a more complex S-shaped DRL pattern. At the same time, the rear lights acquired vertical sections, but remained without the dotted line of side lights.
KIA K5 2024 also received a reshaped bumper and grille. And new design wheels have also become available for it (can be 18 or 19 inches).
Among the features of the interior of the restyled four-door, it is worth noting the appearance of a curved panel without a visor, on which the Koreans placed 12.3-inch displays of the virtual instrument panel and multimedia system.
The climate control control unit retained the physical knobs, but became somewhat wider. In turn, the right ventilation deflector (on the passenger side) is now almost invisible – it has been disguised as the decor of the front panel.
The developers report that it is now possible to update multimedia software over the air. Plus they allegedly improved the sedan’s sound insulation. As for the technology, the Koreans allegedly slightly reconfigured the suspension, making it more comfortable, but did not directly touch the power units.
In South Korea, the base engine is still a 1.6-liter turbo-four with 180 hp, which works in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic. There is also a two-liter naturally aspirated engine in the range, and three modifications were built on its basis.
The standard version produces 160 hp, and there is also an option with gas equipment with 146 hp, as well as a hybrid with a performance of 204 hp. All of these cars are equipped with the older six-speed automatic.
In Korea, orders for the updated K5 are already open. For a four-door they ask for a minimum of $20,500, although previously it was more affordable – from $17,900.
